IAMG’s Board of Directors elected the following people as your leadership team:

IAMG focus is our members and our goal is to accept the responsibility to ensure appropriate support and intervention is available to match the association’s needs as well as the members.

This year IAMG will be celebrating 25 years of service. Like the founders before us, there is a great work to be done on behalf of our members and the communities we serve. As members, I am asking you to meet us at a Town Hall Meeting in your area, as we increase our visibility, and advocacy.

The Illinois Association of Minorities in Government (IAMG) is an organization that advocates on behalf of minority employees for jobs, promotions, job retention and protection against discriminatory acts. IAMG was established and incorporated in November of 1987 and has since actively sought to bring about implementation of existing equal opportunity laws to challenge government officials in areas of unfair employment practices.

IAMG operates through the pooling of financial resources that are derived primarily from dues paid by members of the association. Membership dues are $7.50 per pay period and are obtained in large measure through payroll deduction. Dues can also be paid annually at $180. IAMG has a 15 member governing Board of Directors (elected by members), an Executive Director and office staff.

Each year IAMG hosts an annual State of the State Minorities Conference, which provides employee training, enrichment, and information sharing among attendees. There is also an IAMG newsletter that is distributed quarterly to all active members of the Association. IAMG also offers members a scholarship program to assist in offsetting costs when seeking higher education or training as well to qualify or enhance ones skills for employment or upward mobility.
